Applications are invited for a full-time probationary tenure-track position in Pharmacy Administration at the Assistant Professor level. A PhD in social/behavioral/administrative sciences in pharmacy, or a related field, is required (or be near completion). Relevant teaching and post-doctoral research experience are desirable, as is a degree in pharmacy. The position is available July, 2012.
The College offers a clinically oriented, problem‑based learning (PBL) curriculum and is fully accredited by the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching the curricular content in the area of pharmacy administration at the undergraduate and the graduate level. Content areas may include: health care system management and policy, health epidemiology and economics, medication management systems, quality assessment and improvement of programs, socio-behavioral aspects of medication use, ethics and critical appraisal.
The successful candidate is expected to establish an externally funded research program. There are excellent opportunities to participate or collaborate in pharmaceutical and health services research within the university, affiliated teaching hospitals, and research institutes in the metropolitan area.
He/she will also participate in College, Faculty and University committees, continuing pharmacy education programs and other professional service activities.
