Applications are currently being invited for the position of Product Portfolio Manager, Private Drug Plans.

Reporting to the Director, Group Product Management, the successful candidate will play an integral role in working with our internal teams and clients to understand the landscape and ensure Medavie Blue Cross’s benefit management abilities are evolving and competitive.

 

A key focus will be drug benefit management, product lifecycle management of some of our tiered and special authorization formularies.  As the Product Portfolio Manager you will ultimately be responsible for defining, positioning, augmenting and promotion of our pharmacy benefit management capabilities.

 Key responsibilities of this position include;

 ·        Formulary management  for Medavie Blue Cross’s private business and providing direction to projects and initiatives that will have an impact on drug plan designs, balancing medical necessity with plan affordability;

·        Frequent participation in client meetings, demonstrating your expertise and current knowledge of the pharmaceutical landscape and understanding the clients’ needs; 

·        Providing pharmacy expertise to internal clients such as underwriting, sales and customer benefits as well as external clients, in relation to plan design and general education around trends and analysis;

·        New product and new formulary design in response to marketplace;

·        Participating on the Medication Advisory Panel – reviewing drugs and making recommendations;

·        Supporting the ongoing benefit management process and clinical expertise with pharmaceutical analysis, recommended changes and provide assistance in the pricing of new formularies; and

·        Participating and/or presenting at industry events as an expert in your field.

 

As the ideal candidate, you possess the following qualifications and competencies:

 

·        A degree in pharmacy, with a minimum of five years of related work experience;

·        A self-starter, willing to work both  independently and as a member of a team;

·        Superior presentation, interpersonal, and negotiation skills;

·        A flexible approach to problem solving;

·        A high level of personal accountability, responsibility and self direction;

·        A proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with high attention to detail; and

·        A willingness to travel

·        Bilingualism is preferred

Summary of duties

The Restigouche Health Authority – zone 5 is currently accepting applications for permanent full-time or part-time Pharmacist positions. The holders of these positions will support the Pharmacy Department manager by providing professional pharmaceutical services and helping achieve the department’s goals and objectives. Duties will include active participation in the Health Authority’s clinical programs and activities, including medication reconciliation, general medicine, oncology, palliative care, short- and long-term psychiatric care, the healthy aging program, a satellite renal dialysis program, and supervision of medication distribution.

 

Qualifications required:

·         Must be registered with the New Brunswick Pharmaceutical Society and licensed to practice in New Brunswick;

·         Pharmacy experience in the hospital sector would be an asset;

·         Demonstrate personal motivation, independence, initiative and judgment;

·         Possess strong organizational skills and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills;

·         Written and spoken competence in English and French is required.
